The Heart Behind the Journey

Born from decades of educational experience, research, and observation, J.U.M.P.© offers a thoughtful framework for self-discovery. J.U.M.P.© helps children age 10 and older and adults better understand how they naturally think, relate, and engage with the world, while providing a meaningful way to recognize, appreciate, and develop their individual patterns of Potential.

Mentorship and Pedagogy

The Origin Story
The Scholarship and Experience Behind J.U.M.P.©

My professional life has been dedicated to the fields of education, human development, and the intricate processes of how people learn and evolve. My journey began in the classroom, working with young children and their families. It continued through educational leadership roles and eventually led me to spend many years mentoring the next generation of educators within higher education.

Over time, my work expanded to include research, academic writing, curriculum design, and strategic consulting. My scholarly focus has included language acquisition, literacy, instructional technology, and the intersections of cultural identity and early childhood pedagogy. Through authoring a book, writing chapters for edited books, contributing to peer-reviewed articles, and presenting at national and international conferences, I have remained deeply connected to the broader community of educators and professional organizations.

J.U.M.P.© is the culmination of my professional life in education, bringing together practical experience, scholarly inquiry, and a longstanding curiosity about the innate ways individuals process information and connect with others. The original, manually administered version was created for children age eight and older. In the early years, I read each question aloud to the child and clarified the choices when needed. As practitioners were trained to administer J.U.M.P.©, they followed this same supported approach. The assessment was used successfully with children and families in this guided format.

As J.U.M.P.© developed into a digital assessment, experience and tester feedback indicated that age 10 provides a more consistent developmental fit for the current version. A supporting adult may still read questions aloud or help clarify the choices when needed. The J.U.M.P.© assessment is therefore intended for children age 10 and older, teens, and adults.

I envision J.U.M.P.© as a catalyst for self-awareness, helping people honor their natural inclinations and perceive human Potential as an ever-unfolding treasure to be nurtured and celebrated at every stage of life.
